Tanzi, my Fairy Bear is done!

I finally finished the first Fairy Bear and my gosh I haven't had a lot of time this week to work on her but she is done! Tanzi is a Forest Fairy and is blended with varing shades of green so that she can blend into the forest when she needs to. The legend says that Fairy Bears are a shy but faithful clan. It takes a special person to get them to reveal themselves...once they choose their human though they stay with them for life. . Tanzi is firmly needle felted and 5 way thread jointed to allow some posing of her little body. She can stand if propped but is made to sit. Her wings are made of Fantasy Film and wire then attached to her little body. She will be adopted out soon and will post on FB the link once she's posted.

Custom Order Bears

I am currently taking orders for my Needle felted miniature Teddy Bears. These guys are just precious and make wonderful gifts for adults of all ages! Although they are needle felted I don't recommend these being gifted to a small child, they are suited more for the teenager and adult. With that being said here are the specifics:
1. I will consider custom orders within reason :O) You can choose your choice of color and size. Even the color of his nose, if you want paw pads etc. Any other embellishments will be considered on a case by case basis, keeping in mind that prices quoted below are for the Bears ONLY.

2. Bears come in the following sizes: roughly 2- 2 1/2" $35.00 +shp/hdlg., 3-3 1/2" $50.00 + shp/hdlg. Sizes are approximate and may vary slightly due to each one being OOAK (one of a kind and not mass produced)These will be shipped USPS Priority for quick shippment as soon as the bear is completed.
3. These are firmly felted bears, this takes a little time so please allow me some time to complete your order at which time I will email you a picture so that you can see your Lovie before shipment.
4. Payments will be accepted through PayPal or MO.
I will go over more specifics with you prior to completing the order transaction. If you have any other questions you can get in touch with me via email and I will respond as soon as I can. Thanks! Lj

Sweet Olivia

This is Olivia and she was such a joy to make! I purchased a kit from Living Felt and this is the result. I loved working with this corriedale wool! Much easier to felt! She is a really pretty lilac blend with a darker shade of rosey purple for the pad and belly. She sits about 3 1/4" and 5 1/2" standing. She's not made to stand tho! Only thing left is a cute little bow and flower for her head!

I Did IT!! Chelsea is here!

I posted Chelsea on Facebook last night as I was just excited to have her done! I decided to try needle felting to add a little pizazz to my girls that I do and before I knew it I jumped right in to make a bear.  Chelsea is made from local Alpaca fiber and really wasn't to hard to felt. It took a little time and I did have to snip here and there for all the longer fibers that are in Alpaca but all in all the color is really pretty. The alpaca's name is Gizmo and originally I was going to name the bear the same but once she was finished I realized she looked to much like a precious little girl to be named Gizmo, lol.
She's 2" sitting, glass beads for eyes and thread jointed. This particular part I need to work on as it felt a bit clumsy sewing Chelsea's limbs on. I want to be able to maintain functionality with the limbs but also want to feel they are on securely. So much more research on how to do that. All in all I love her and will be making more of these too. :O)

Creating and setting your pieces apart from the crowd

I recently stumbled upon an artist that just caught my eye and really got me excited and thinking about the possibilities with the technique and incorporating my own style once I learned it.  It's really been wonderful, fun and exciting. It got me drawing even more than I currently do and planning the project out a little more, so when I became a bit comfortable with it I wanted to then infuse my own sense of style and imagination. I love seeing things and using that "something" as a spring board for my own creativity. Once this happens I am looking to see what I can do to set my designs and creations apart for everyone elses. I have decided to learn yet another craft to add to the list and fortunately it doesn't require a lot of materials or tools and is very portable for me. My little girls really aren't good for carting back and forth to the shop along with all the paints, embellishments, tools and what not needed to assemble the clothespins. I am hoping this will be the key to setting my babies apart and perhaps help me with sales. I will be posting soon on what that is and my first example so be watching! I hope that everyone in winter wonderland is safe and warm! Luvs <3<3<3
