First I have to give some credit to a dear woman who's been a big inspiration to me and pushing me to make my babies the best that they can be! www.shellylampshireoriginals.com Think outside the box when making your next doll, bear, friend etc. Mixing media isn't a new technique but it was something I had trouble with and Shelly has some excellent tutorials to help you with the process. So with that being said I would like to introduce you to Dynia my little Pumpkin Fairy Bear. I had purchased some Fairy Tale Pumpkin felting wool from www.livingfelt.com and just knew I would have to make a bear with it once it arrived. I love fantasy and am constantly trying to come up with ways to depict my love for both needle felting animals and whimsy. Dynia stands at 4" tall and is felted over a wire armature. Sitting she sits at 2 3/4" tall with hand painted eyes and nose, then sealed to give her eyes that moist look. She is adorned with wings, bells, yarn and feathers. I hand painted a pumpkin decoration, then flocked it in areas, applied orange glitter and made some felted leaves that also incorporate some of Dynia's colors. I hope you like her! Please feel free to leave comments, I would love to hear from you!
Thank you for stopping by! I wanted to create a page that would allow me to show you my friends! It's been so much fun with them around!! They don't like being alone and love attention so please feel free to leave notes here for them! Have fun looking around and please feel free to contact me with any questions!

More Needle Felted Lovies
Work has definately taken over life right now but I have been working hard to get a couple of things done. My little Bear Ginger with her friend Peep and Monkey boy with his favorite toy a Tug Boat have been such fun to make! Ginger is a needle felted 5 way thread jointed bear with her little Birdie friend. I named her after a really special friend of mine. Monkey Boy is a commission piece for a friend of mine. The inspiration was his 6 month old son and wanting to incorporate a Tug Boat somehow. The monkey has the oversized feet and hands of a baby and will one day grow into those and hopefully some day captain his own Tug boat but until then he is happy to have one to play with! My NF piggy is getting closer to being done as well, will hopefully be able to post pictures of her soon! I hope that everyone is having a great week so far, I know Mondays can be a little rough but before you know it the weekend will be here so hang in there!!

My Felting Adventures!
Time for felting had dwindled a bit with work becoming very busy. Tattooing has it's busy times and not so busy times, well we are in the "tourist season" so to speak so felting has slowed considerably. I have managed to complete my new Bear Miss Claudine! I also have another bear that I began then ran out of the color wool batt that I needed. That is on it's way so I will be able to finish that one soon. My other project was to try another animal. I was inspired recently by a photo on Teddy Bear & Friends, the Spring 2010 issue. There are two Piggy's on the cover and both are made a bit differently with different mediums. The large is needle felted, then painted and it's just adorable, well they both are but I loved the bigger one especially. I have a stockpile of off white felting wool here so decided to give it a try. She's pretty much finished needle felting wise and I will attempt to paint her and bring her to life. I hope you enjoy! Ms. Claudine is a 5 way thread jointed miniature Teddy Bear made of Merino Cross Felting Batts. She sits about 2 3/4" tall as does her piggy friend. I will be posting her up on Artfire soon.
Everyone have a great week and lets hope for some warm weather soon! Lj

Tanzi, my Fairy Bear is done!
I finally finished the first Fairy Bear and my gosh I haven't had a lot of time this week to work on her but she is done! Tanzi is a Forest Fairy and is blended with varing shades of green so that she can blend into the forest when she needs to. The legend says that Fairy Bears are a shy but faithful clan. It takes a special person to get them to reveal themselves...once they choose their human though they stay with them for life. . Tanzi is firmly needle felted and 5 way thread jointed to allow some posing of her little body. She can stand if propped but is made to sit. Her wings are made of Fantasy Film and wire then attached to her little body. She will be adopted out soon and will post on FB the link once she's posted.

I am currently taking orders for my Needle felted miniature Teddy Bears. These guys are just precious and make wonderful gifts for adults of all ages! Sizes are approximate and may vary slightly due to each one being OOAK (one of a kind and not mass produced)These will be shipped USPS Priority for quick shippment as soon as the bear is completed.3.
